About This Spot

Walking into Slick’s Restaurant feels like stepping into a familiar neighborhood landmark with a fresh coat of paint and the comforts of a well-loved local gathering spot. The light spills generously through the windows, illuminating the clean, warm interior where the hum of quiet conversations blends with the occasional clink of glasses. It’s a place that moves at a relaxed, unhurried pace, inviting people to settle in for a moment—whether it’s a quick bite or a leisurely evening catching up with friends.

At its heart, Slick’s is a sandwich shop and bar & grill where tradition meets thoughtful updates. The menu nods to nostalgic flavors with generously stacked sandwiches that carry the kind of care only a family-run place can deliver. You’ll find the familiar comforts of richly layered roast beef and turkey nestled between soft slices of rye or white bread, each bite balanced perfectly—not overshadowed by overpowering sauces but lifted by subtle touches like horseradish mayo or a crisp olive spread.

The bar quietly complements the food with a simple yet attentive selection of beers and classic mixed drinks. The attentive refrigeration of vermouth and the absence of anything overly flashy behind the bar speak to an appreciation of craftsmanship over showmanship. It’s the sort of detail that food and drink lovers notice and quietly appreciate.

Behind the friendly, efficient service is a genuine hospitality that makes every guest feel welcome and known — the kind of warmth found in a hometown spot where the hosts remember your name and preferences. Whether you’re here to savor a substantial sandwich, enjoy a well-poured pint, or simply soak in the friendly ambiance, Slick’s offers a modest but memorable slice of local flavor and human connection.

Cheers to Slicks making their 2.0 debut. Clean, Fresh, Friendly, Genuine and Refreshing kick off. Nice selection of beer, wine, and spirits. Gold stars for the vermouth being refrigerated!! And no neon red trash maraschino cherries here! nostalgic sandwiches and new classics making their way on to the menu. Muffaletta was done well with the proper meats, cheeses, and olive spread. Could use a splash of acid to balance the fatty cold cuts. Potato salad, better than most. Looking forward to many return visits to explore the menu as it evolves and the bar expands.

The place was clean and well illuminated, while the staff was friendly and efficient. I got exactly what I asked for. The turkey on white bread sandwich. The horseradish mayo sauce was just right. Not to aggressive or bland. It was so good I finished it all. The potato salad was good too. I will be going back for more and try a different combination next time.

One the best sandwich shops ever is back at it! New owners, a slick coat of paint and the same giant stack of meat. The gates of heaven are back open for me. I was shocked to see them open at 730pm on a Tuesday. They have the bar open, liquor, beers and a great menu.

I'd highly recommend Slicks for a quick and delicious sandwich & great hometown atmosphere and service. Doing it the way we used to Slicks should be anyone's go to local bar and restaurant. Andrew & Mallory are some of the best hosts in the business.

Great classic Stockade feel. The history is there (just look at the walls lined with pictures) and the sandwiches are huge! Always happy to stop in for food and a pint (UC on draft). Thank you for being there!
